About the role

As a Senior Ruby Engineer, you'll develop and maintain the core Ruby applications powering our data collection platform and API services. You'll design and implement scalable solutions for processing, validating, and enriching millions of business records from diverse international markets. Working closely with data science and product teams, you'll build internal tools that enhance our data quality processes. You'll improve system architecture, optimize performance, and ensure reliability of our Ruby-based services. This role involves mentoring junior developers while establishing best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation in a growing engineering team.

About your background and skills

Strong experience with Ruby and Rails in production environments, particularly for data-intensive applications. Expertise in API development, background job processing, and database optimization. Experience with AWS infrastructure and containerization technologies. Knowledge of geospatial data processing and international data challenges beneficial. Strong understanding of testing methodologies and performance optimization. Ability to write maintainable, well-documented code that other developers can easily understand and extend. Experience working with cross-functional teams and communicating technical concepts clearly. Passion for solving complex problems in emerging markets and interest in how data drives business decisions. Self-directed work style with proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
