About the role

As a Founding Engineer, you'll help architect our core infrastructure and technical foundation while working directly with leadership to shape our technical roadmap. You'll design and implement scalable systems for model training, evaluation, and deployment, establishing engineering best practices that will scale with our growing team. Your work will span from optimizing distributed training pipelines to building robust model serving infrastructure and developer tools. You'll tackle novel technical challenges in AI systems design while having outsized impact on our technical culture, hiring decisions, and strategic direction.

About your background and skills

Exceptional software engineering skills with experience building complex, scalable systems from scratch. Deep expertise in machine learning infrastructure, particularly for large language models. Track record of technical leadership and successful project delivery in ambiguous environments. Strong background in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and production ML deployment. Ability to balance pragmatic solutions with technical excellence. Experience at AI research labs, leading tech companies, or successful startups highly valued. Must be comfortable with rapid iteration, wearing multiple hats, and thriving in an environment where you'll define your own role while helping build something groundbreaking.
