About the role

As Sr. + Backend Engineer, you'll architect and implement scalable services powering our core platform capabilities. You'll design robust APIs handling complex asset processing workflows, metadata management, and integration with various third-party systems. Working closely with product and frontend teams, you'll create solutions that balance performance with flexibility to support diverse client needs. You'll lead initiatives to improve system reliability, optimize data models, and enhance security measures. This role involves technical mentorship of junior engineers while contributing to architectural decisions that will shape our platform's evolution for years to come.

About your background and skills

Extensive experience building production backend systems with significant scale requirements, particularly those handling media assets or complex metadata. Deep expertise in Node.js/TypeScript and modern backend frameworks. Strong understanding of database design (SQL and NoSQL), caching strategies, and search technologies. Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and containerization. Background implementing reliable, high-throughput API services with comprehensive testing practices. Knowledge of content delivery networks, media processing, and storage optimization valuable. Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills. Appreciation for pragmatic solutions while maintaining code quality. Experience in fast-growing startups and ability to thrive amid evolving requirements highly desired.
